說真的，個人對於EeePC 701當初推出時的印象還是相當強烈，為此還寫了一篇「從補足Linux軟硬體最後一哩的角度看EeePC」稱讚。可是二年過去，線上販售的小筆電都只剩下Windows XP或是Windows 7 Starter了。

ZDNet甚至寫了一篇「小筆電可跟iPad學習的10件事」(雖然有一二點跟我這邊講得也有點像)，個人覺得分析地很好，但是很諷刺的是，2007年推出第一台小筆電至今，為何到現在反而還要回過頭來學習iPad的優點？其實相關廠商裡面還是有做了一些努力，但是很可惜沒有持續，或是一些問題根本就沒有解決過。

1.介面的再進步

當年看到EeePC701 Linux的介面，就覺得是個不錯的嘗試，在當時第一隻iPhone剛推出還只接受Web App開發模式的時候，EeePC這樣陳列型的介面，已經可以使用許多桌上型軟體，但是在精緻度和易用度上，很可惜沒有繼續再做相關的改進。

再回頭看iPad/iPhone的介面，其實說明EeePC Linux的介面定義並沒有錯，其實也很好。只可惜是沒有延續，也缺乏改進和修正，相比之下變成像是一個介面的草型。

2.軟體/內容應用的缺乏
